At First Baptist Church, we are committed to honoring Christ, building unity while embracing our diversity, and making a difference for the good in Murfreesboro and the larger world. We pursue our goals by providing varied worship experiences, studying the Bible, praying for and supporting one another, nurturing friendships and involvement in “hands-on” ministries.

We are known as a “moderate” congregation, but there is nothing moderate about our commitment to Jesus Christ. If you visit with us, you will find persons of all ages sharing equally in the life of the church. Pass by our nursery window, and you’ll see caring volunteers rocking and comforting babies. Other adults may be putting on their choir robes in preparation for the traditional worship service, or the praise team may be conducting its final rehearsal before the contemporary service begins. In another part of the building, a ministry team is meeting to plan its next mission trip or volunteer activity in town. That’s merely the tip of the iceberg. Our members tend to be rather passionate about their ministries!
