Season of Lent

BUILDING AUTHENTIC COMMUNITY
Season of Lent
February 10 - March 26

On the evening before his crucifixion Jesus prayed for all who would someday believe in him “that they may be one...may they be brought to complete unity so that the world may know you have sent me.” (John 17:20-23) Our Lenten emphasis this year is to deepen our authentic community as believers by focusing together on Christ and our unity in him.

Historically Lent is a time to reflect on Christ’s sacrifice on our behalf, and on how we can follow Christ sacrificially in our own lives. This year we are challenging our members to sacrifice our own self-interests to reach out and make room for others in our lives.

Lenten Booklets are available at the Welcome Center to give guidance to this emphasis or click here to download a pdf version. The booklet examines 6 key spiritual disciplines to help build Christian community - one for each week of Lent. Separate Lenten materials are also available for children and families.

Other Lenten opportunities are listed below.
