Relay for Life

Saturday, May 21

First Baptist Church on East Main and First Baptist Church on East Castle will be serving together as onsite prayer teams for the upcoming "Relay for Life" May 21, noon - midnight at Middle Tennessee Christian School. This outdoor community fundraising event is to remember those we have lost to cancer, celebrate those who have survived, and to fight back through funds raised for the American Cancer Society. This year there will be a first time designated prayer tent onsite. Adult volunteers are invited to sign up to be available to pray with anyone who might have a concern or need for prayer on this special day. Our goal is to have eight prayer volunteers (four from FBC E. Main and four from FBC E. Castle) per hour from noon until 9:00 p.m. We need 36 adult prayer volunteers from FBC E. Main.

Additional areas of service for younger folks will include logistics such as tent set up and breakdown teams, and walkers to walk on the track in honor of loved ones. We are honored to have been invited by FBC E. Castle to serve and pray together, in this first time ever, prayer tent opportunity. It will be a meaningful day filled with relay team walkers, prayer opportunities, enjoyable festivities for the family, and a special Luminaria Ceremony at dusk. For more information or to sign up, contact Jimmi Lou Tate or Phil Potratz (ppotratz@fbcmboro.org). Erin Abernathy, FBC E. Castle, is the prayer tent coordinator.
